Scorpions

 Scorpions
There are up to 100 species of scorpion in Australia with several being present in Tasmanian suburbs.
They have eight legs and are easily recognized by the pair of grasping claws and the narrow, segmented tail, often carried in a characteristic forward curve over the back, ending with a venomous stinger.
If stung the sting area may blister and a strong ache, similar to a wasp sting, is experienced lasting for a few hours.
The most common area to find scorpions is under the house or in the leaf litter in your garden
